Created using the EFPSE game engine!
DEMO/SHAREWARE download currently contains: (version 0.3):
- All of Chapter 1, Chapter 2, and Chapter 3!!
- 4 difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Hard, and Deadly)!
- over 30 secrets to find!
- 12 types of enemies to fight!
- 6 different weapons, including: Machinegun, Boltcannon, Flakgun, Dual-Flakgun, Dual-Autoguns, and even Quad-Chainguns!!
- more than 7 powerups, including stuff like: Mega ammo, Bonus mechs, Golden wrench, and even a Secret Detector that lasts for one level and beeps like a metal detector when a secret is nearby!
- all of the game's pixel art is hand-made by me (Daniel Walthall) to give the game a totally unique feel and style!
- all keys and locked doors are colorblind friendly using a clear and unique symbol for each type, and enemy sprites are designed to stand out from the background textures for increased readability!
CHANGELOG (version 0.3)
- better particle effects when the player shoots enemies
- more challenging bosses and mini-bosses, and stun-locking larger enemies is much less likely
- chance for bosses/mini-bosses to have a bit more health and damage, but drop better loot (the chance is higher on higher difficulties)
- small increase in damage for all of the basic weapons (Machinegun, Boltcannon, Flakgun)
- new weapon sounds for the Quad-Chaingun and Dual-Flakguns
- the game now has music by Kevin MacLeod! (incompetech.com, music credits also shown in the main menu)
- 10 more levels added to the game (all of them are available in the demo too!) which brings the total to 20 levels (three Chapters)
- 4 new enemies to face, including more unique enemies such as a "multi-stage" enemy
- a simple in-game manual (called "The Mecha Pilot's Handbook") with concise information can be found near the beginning of the game
- three portals added to the start of the game that allows players to choose to start in Chapter 1, Chapter 2, or Chapter 3
- disabled the save/load system due to scripting errors, but the player will still respawn at the start of the current level whenever they die, and the new Chapter Portals allow you to select which Chapter to play so you don't have to always start from Chapter 1!
- many other tweaks and improvements that are too numerous to mention individually
